One hallmark of Bastyr University students, faculty and alumni is their involvement in the local community. You will find them giving speeches and presentations to clubs and organizations, offering special events on campus and teaching/spreading the word about natural medicine. Bastyr student Cris Bosted recently presented a workshop at the Interbay P-Patch in Seattle about "How To Grow Herbs." A dozen or so gardeners were on hand to hear his tips and advice, and, as an extra bonus, they learned how to make their own herbal salves and balms. In addition, Bastyr's professional speaker's bureau insures that the community's needs for speakers and presenters on natural health topics are met by Bastyr's faculty and alumni members.
